The Great Escape - 40 degrees in the Grampians

Heatwave aside, this was unironically one of our best family holidays yet. Chloe is past the car-sickness phase (and projectile vomits) and Oli is slowly but surely being less of a sook! We also bit the bullet and spent slightly more on accommodation, 10/10 worth, especially in the heat.

So many great moments… the small family of wallabies eating outside our window, the kids seeing/experiencing their first sunset (from the mountain top), and seeing Oli’s excitement running after everyone to get to the waterfall… The Grampians are perfectly commercialised for a national park; you can eat and drink comfortably without being stuck in traffic (cough Noosa/Byron), surrounded by loud tourists or paying through the teeth for every meal. Obviously not even close to as big a draw as the two places mentioned, but it’s a bloody good holiday if you like being outdoors and you’re looking for something family friendly. And you like avoiding the masses…
